About
Lecturer and researcher at the Higher School of Agriculture of Mateur, Tunisia, specializing in animal health and production. He has more than 30 years of experience in teaching, research, and development activities.
He holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, a Master's degree in Animal Genetics and Reproduction Sciences, and a PhD in Animal Production Sciences.
Throughout his academic career, he has supervised numerous Final Year Projects, Master's and doctoral students, including more than 28 works related to bee health and beekeeping.
His current research focuses on sustainable bee health, genetic improvement, and the modernization of beekeeping practices.
He coordinates research collaborations and co-supervises doctoral projects in several areas related to honey bees and sustainable beekeeping, including:
- Honey quality and characterization.
- Sustainable bee nutrition and alternative nutritional resources.
- Honey bee genetic diversity and genetic improvement.
- Genetic and biological approaches to improving Varroa resistance.
- Metagenomic analysis of honey bee products and microbiomes.
He also has 25 years of professional experience in integrated rural development using participatory approaches.
His professional work includes training technicians and beekeepers, providing agricultural advisory services, supporting small investments, and improving professional organization among breeders.
His applied research activities cover bee mortality, bee diseases, honey quality, Varroa control, and colony productivity, as well as the development and valorization of local beekeeping products.
